At the end of the day, the most overwhelming key to a child’s success is the positive involvement of parents.

The NIST Parent-Teacher Association (NIPTA) aims to inspire, empower and enrich our community, and support the mission and vision of the school. All parents and teachers in the NIST community are members of NIPTA. The elected leadership of NIPTA works closely with school staff to:
- Enhance parent engagement in a range of school events and initiatives
- Strengthen the relationships among parents, students, staff, leadership and the school board, as well as with the broader community
- Facilitate the flow of information between the parents and NIST administration
NIPTA offers many opportunities for parents to take an active role in the school community. Our volunteers serve in the Executive Committee and as class/year-level parent representatives. We welcome families who are new to NIST and sponsor cultural activities, day trips and tours, and many different classes and workshops. NIPTA also supports NIST Falcon sports teams, provides assistance for musical and theatrical performances, and promotes the work of student-led service groups at NIST.
